Alexander Miller - Chairman
"Al" Miller has decades of experience in the Shareholder Services industry and is well-regarded for his pioneering work in small shareholder buybacks and post-merger cleanups.
Al began his career in the Corporate Trust Department at Citibank in 1965 where he managed convertible redemption transactions for corporate issuers. In 1969 he left to form Shareholder Communications Corporation which, over the next thirty four years, conducted more than 8000 small shareholder buybacks, post-merger clean-ups, proxy solicitations and information agent assignments for more than 2000 public companies.
After acquiring Georgeson & Co., the best known and largest proxy firm, in 1999, and eight other proxy solicitation and shareholder-response firms in the US, Canada, England, South Africa and Italy, Al sold the company to Computershare, the Australian-based shareholder record-keeping giant, in 2003, for $115 million.
Peter Breen - Managing Partner
Peter has over 20 years experience in the Investor Relations and Shareholder Services industry.
Peter began his career in Transfer Agent and Corporate Trust Sales. In 1993, Peter joined Shareholder Communications where he served as a Partner and Senior Vice President. The firm later acquired Georgeson and became known as Georgeson Shareholder Communications. Peter was involved with hundreds of shareholder-related programs, including odd-lot buybacks, post-merger clean-ups and the formation of direct stock purchase plans.
In 1998, Peter left Georgeson to form BUYandHOLD where he served as Founder, Chairman and CEO of the first online brokerage firm to introduce a dollar-based investing platform. He built BUYandHOLD into one of the top-ten online brokerage firms in the country and, in the process, earned the company the title of "fastest growing brokerage firm in U.S. history" (coined by the analysts at JP Morgan). He sold the company to Oppenheimer & Co. in March 2002.
Since 2002, Peter has been the Managing Partner of a New York based financial services consulting firm, The Vokser Group.
Before joining the business world, Peter served as a commissioned Infantry Officer and Paratrooper in the United States Army. Mr. Breen received a Congressional Nomination to The United States Military Academy at West Point, and earned his commission and Associates Degree in Economics from Marion Military Institute, Marion AL. He also studied Economics at the University of Maine, Orono, ME.

Marc Orenstein - Managing Partner
Marc has over 16 years experience in the financial services sector. He began his career in the Convertible Bond Arbitrage Department at Bear, Stearns & Company in 1991 where he "stripped" out bond components to focus on price discrepancies. Marc was tasked to more accurately value the fixed income components of the bonds using many of the same techniques as the Mortgage Backed Securities Group. In 1993, Marc joined JPMorgan Securities as a Listed Equities Trader where he executed orders for the Block Trading Desk and assisted the Head Risk Arbitrage trader. He also worked with the Structured Equity Derivative Group in the implementation and clearing of complex asset swap transactions. Starting in 1995, March began trading securities for his own account and others in New York, San Francisco, London and Amsterdam.
Marc has a B.A. in Economics from Boston University, an M.B.A., Concentration in Finance, from Hoftsra University and Second Level Honors from the London School of Economics in their International Program.
Melissa Halverson - Managing Director
Melissa has over 15 years experience in the financial services industry. She started her career in Human Resources with an international commodities trading firm in 1992. In 1995, Melissa joined a Canadian-based International Bank, where she was eventually responsible for the organizational management of 22 offices across the country.
In 1999, Melissa joined BUYandHOLD, the first online dollar-based brokerage firm and served as Vice President. While there, she focused on affinity marketing initiatives and product development for their Corporate Services Division. Since 2002, Melissa has been consulting and specializing in retail investor marketing, business communications, web design, and creating online sales and service solutions for retail brokerage and financial service related companies as Partner of The Vokser Group.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Professional Liberal Studies with a concentration in Business Management from Dowling College, Oakdale, NY.
